What Is Kratom?

Kratom (Mitragyna speciosa) is a tropical evergreen tree from the Rubiaceae family, native to Southeast Asia.

In the wild, kratom grows to a height of 30 m (98 ft) with a trunk up to 1 m (3 ft) in diameter. The leaves are elliptic-ovate, 10–18 cm (4–7 in) long and 6–12 cm (2–5 in) wide, with smooth margins.

The flowers grow in clusters of three at the ends of the branches. Each flower has five petals: three small ones that are pink or white, and two larger ones that are yellow or orange. Kratom fruits are oval-shaped and contain many seeds.

Furthermore, kratom contains over 40 distinct alkaloids including mitragynine at the forefront with approximately 66% of the total alkaloid content in the kratom leaf.

While further research is needed to fully understand the potential properties of kratom fully, the micronutrients present in kratom leaves may offer some value.

The Advantages of Kratom Tea

Kratom Tea is the best way to enjoy its mild effects. According to your individual choice, you can make cold tea or hot tea. Kratom tea ensures that you can take advantage of all the alkaloids.

From the past to today, farmers have brewed kratom tea from freshly picked, whole leaves by throwing the leaves into a pot of boiling water and steeping them for around three or four hours. Then the golden herb has been served to the whole tribe.

Today we can also use kratom tea bags that are filled with premium, crushed leaf kratom.

The crushed leaf is necessary, as micronized powder fits through the pores of the tea bag, resulting in a gritty tea. To assist in flavor and effect, you can also purchase kratom tea bags with supplementary herbs and essential oils.
